Clay was an Eastern North Carolina native who had an insatiable love for the beauty and peace he found in the woods and waters of the region. Quite literally baptized in the waters of the Albemarle Sound by his father, Clay’s life was centered on his love of Christ, his family and the environment around him. He found great peace and comfort quietly walking in the woods, exploring the waterways of the region and sharing his faith with others.

Clay picked up his first guitar as a teenager and found as much joy in making music as he did anything. Cool Clear Water is a compilation of original artwork written and recorded by Clay. Each song featured on the album can be tied directly to some physical catalyst that personally touched his life and inspired the words and tunes he played. Personal experiences including a date-night with his beloved wife, the familiarity of a Cypress lined creek, the struggles of commercial fishing, prison ministry, and the birth of a child can all be found in the music.

Production of Cool Clear Water was made possible by those whose lives were touched by Clay in some way. Great thanks goes out to the individuals that supported the project with generous donations of love.
